LiveJournal Pilfer: Unfinished Business

In 8th grade, I randomly decided to put pen to paper and write out the story of Final Fantasy 6. I think I was just bored and waiting for class to start. This was the first year of my parents divorce and my Dad worked early, so on Friday mornings I had no choice but to go to work three hours before school had started. This was a great time for creative juices to flow.

I had gotten all the way to the meeting of Terra and the Returners before my interest had begun to wain and I moved on to doing something else. This was not only the first time I started using my imagination to the extent that I actually started writing, it marked the first time I wouldn’t finish a project I had set forth to do. From then to now (Roughly 15 years) there have been a multitude of Creative Projects that I had introduced to people & were inevitably let down, or never saw the light of day.

I don’t know what it is that causes me to almost never finish an idea. I doubt it’s due to lack of creativity. Often I’ve attributed it to lack of drive. In reality, though, I think it’s probably just my ADD addled mind that gets bored & I lose focus and find something else that catches my attention.

Regardless of the causes, I’ve decided to share these ideas (many of which I may return to) in order to maybe get a glimpse into my psyche, my history, maybe a good old trip down memory lane, and just to see how I enjoy spending my time!

Now lets see if I end up finishing this project…

EDIT (5/24/2024): He didn’t finish it…
